Join First Light Racing in running in the new year at Millican Reserve!

5k / 15k / 30k Trail Run

December 31, 2023 and/or January 1, 2024

Double down on your resolutions!  Run out the old and come back the next day to run in the new!
End the year or start off the new year right with us at the amazing Millican Reserve.  Run both days to give yourself a real challenge! Packet Pickup will take place at Millican Reserve.

 

 

What’s included:

We are still working to lock down the swag for this event before announcing it.  Also included in registration will be food, beverages, and finisher’s award.  You will receive a second giveaway (TBD) if you sign up for both days! A 15% discount will be applied to the second event you register for (you’ll need to check the box for each event you would like to register).

 

Course:

All distances will take place on single track trails throughout Millican Reserve. These well maintained trails offer a variety of challenging and fun terrain that will entertain all levels of trail runners. We encourage everyone to join Lone Star Trail Runners so that you can get comfortable with the trails all year long. We have removed the 60k from this years event. If there is enough interest, we will add it back. The first and last mile of each lap is out and back for all distances. Runners doing multiple laps must run back to start before starting the next lap.

• 30k – 2 laps
• 15k – 1 lap
• 5k – 1 lap

 

We have added a Kids Run!

This will be a short course about 0.5Miles.  Every kid will receive a medal, a shirt will be an addon since they don’t have all the sizes for little ones.  There will not be any overall awards for the kids run.  Parents will be able to run with their kid.  Its a great way to involve your biggest fan in a run!

 

Schedule:

Friday, December 30th

• 3:00 PM- 6:00 PM – Packet Pickup at Millican Reserve.

December 31st — New Years Eve Race Day:

• 7:30am – 8:45am – Packet Pickup/Race Day Registration
• 8:30am – Start for 30K
• 8:45am – Start for 15K
• 9:00am – Start for 5K

January 1st, 2023 — New Years Race Day:

• 7:30am – 8:45am – Packet Pickup/Race Day Registration
• 8:30am – Start for 30K
• 8:45am – Start for 15K
• 9:00am – Start for 5K

 

Awards:

Men and Women’s Overall and Age-group awards will be given to top 3 finishers of each race.

Age Groups:

• Under 18
• 18-30
• Every 10 years after that, as high as we need to go.

 

Aid Stations:

We will have multiple tables set up at each aid station with bottles of water, water jugs, tailwind and sealed food/nutrition. We will have trash cans just past the aid stations. Drop bags can be placed at the start and will be watched by our volunteers (this is available to all runners). The 5k will be a single lap with 1 water only aid station at about 2 miles. The 30k will be 2 laps and the 15k will be 1 lap including 1 full aid station on course, 1 water station (you will pass twice) and a full aid stating at the Start/Finish.

 

Parking

Please use the Farm Entrance to Millican Reserve (19851 FM 2154). There is designated parking at the Trailhead in the grassy area near the Farm. You MAY NOT PROCEED past the Farm area in your vehicle.
