The Millican Reserve Land Conservancy is a 501(c)3 nonprofit serving the Brazos Valley.
We work to connect our community to nature through health-focused education and outdoor experiences centered around land and wildlife conservation, outdoor recreation, the arts, and sustainable agriculture. The Conservancy protects, maintains, and promotes the heritage and ecologically-sound, long-term use of conserved land at Millican Reserve.
Camp Millican is the Conservancy’s week-long summer day camp for kids ages 4 to 14 which promotes healthy discovery and outdoor adventures. This summer we served over 200 children over eight weeks. Since 2013, Camp Millican has provided a fun, enriching experience aimed at strengthening a child’s sense of well-being and cultivating a bond with nature.
Last year, the Conservancy provided over 140 scheduled nature programs, serving over 1,600 adults and children in the Brazos Valley, and our partners served an additional 1,550 individuals with activities ranging from fly fishing to trail runs to outdoor classes. We provide access to extensive outdoor resources, including 30 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding, wildlife training, and an ever-improving connection to nature.
The Conservancy is the steward of the private land at Millican Reserve, and we are working to protect, maintain, and promote the ecologically sound long-term use of the native landscape and wildlife while providing healthy resources to our community.
We believe that connecting with nature improves mental and physical wellbeing, and that the health of a community improves as its members spend more time outdoors and in nature.
We offer affordable Conservancy memberships and trail passes to enhance the wellness and quality of life for our community.
Membership in the nonprofit Conservancy supports our mission and includes limited access to the private trails at Millican Reserve, guided hikes and other outdoor programming, special events, discounts on summer camp and riding lessons, and much more.
**The Conservancy is offering a discount on annual Membership through October 14, 2024: $300 for Family Members and $150 for Individual Members. Paid annual Family Members receive 5 tickets to Pumpkinpalooza Weekend and paid annual Individual Family Members receive 3 tickets. Email for more information. **
For its 6th year, the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley is powering Brazos Valley Gives, bringing our region together as one community to raise critical funding and awareness for Brazos Valley nonprofit organizations like the Conservancy.
