About JDs Woodworks
At JDs WoodWorks, the Bodger’s hand crafted wooden spoons are carved from native Texas and exotic wood grains to provide you with years of use. Each wooden spoon, ladle, cup, bowl or spatula is designed to be extremely functional while still feeling comfortable in your hand. Time after time people tell the ‘Bodger’ that these are the most beautiful spoons they have ever seen. Some even say they are Works of Art.
The Bodger’s spoons aren’t turned out by the thousands — each spoon, ladle, bowl, cup or spatula is hand carved one at a time and no two are alike. Every spoon gets its start by hand selecting wood that will provide an attractive grain pattern adding beauty and warmth to the piece. Using a variety of carving tools the bowl is hollowed out by hand and the handle shaped. Finally the outside of the bowl is rounded and the entire piece is sanded smooth. Each spoon is then oiled with food safe mineral oil and pure beeswax to bring out the beauty of the wood grain.
Unlike mass-machined wooden spoons, these spoons are thick and solid. A carved wooden spoon is one of the most useful tools in any kitchen. They look good and they feel good in the hand. A wooden spoon won’t scrape or damage your expensive cookware. You can use your wooden spoon for stirring, dipping, dishing or serving.
